Join this fun weekend for serious cookers and amateurs alike and activities and fun for the whole family. Cash Prizes & Trophies for BBQ Teams, Music Concerts, Kids Zone, Vendor Booths, Food Vendors and a ton of fun Friday & Saturday. This fundraising event enables Firefighters Helping Firefighters to support firefighters in crisis.

Come out and enjoy the live music, food vendors, fantastic Kids Space full of inflatables and obstacle courses, face painting and vendor booths selling all kinds of goodies!

  • 8:00 p.m. Firehouse Chili Cookoff – Back for the 2nd year, BBQ Teams prepare their best chili for bragging rights, cash and a really cool apron made out of fire bunker gear. 
  • 8:30 p.m. LIVE MUSIC (band TBA)

  • 9:00 a.m. Bloody Mary Mahem Contest – Do you have an “eye opening” recipe?  Celebrity judges will kick off their day tasting some of the best concoctions.  
  • NOON – Gates open
  • Enjoy the activities and DJ music to get your day going
  • 2:00 – Cowboy Dave, from 100.3 The Bull, is our gracious emcee for the day and will kickoff our bands who will entertain the crowd late into the night
  • 2:30 – LIVE MUSIC (band TBA)
  • 5:30 p.m. Join us for “Champion’s Circle” Awards ceremony to reveal the best cookers of this event!  See last year’s winners.

MARGARITA & BLOODY MARY CONTESTS

Only $25 per entry or $10 per entry for registered bbq teams  
1st Place: $150; 2nd Place $100; 3rd Place: $50.  

Mix a great concoction for cash prizes and bragging rights.  Friday night at 6:30 make your best Margarita on the Rocks to be judged by some local celebrities.  What’s on the menu for Saturday morning at 9:00?  Only the best Bloody Mary’s!  Participate in just one category or go for the gusto with both of them.  Calling all mixologists, restaurants, home professionals and bbq teams to get in on the action….and the cash!

Interested in being part of the fun and getting a “free” ride into the event? Come join us to volunteer. Here are the benefits of being a volunteer (14+ years of age):

  2. You are enabling Firefighters Helping Firefighters to optimize any proceeds from this event to help our firefighters in crisis (see mission below).

MISSION:

Our goal is to have a fantastic event that has the potential to grow over the next few years.  At the same time being a young, small, volunteer run non-profit, we hope that we can be successful in raising funds for firefighters, support all first responders and raise awareness in the community about the daily financial challenges for fire families who are temporarily impacted by a crisis.  
 
This organization was born out of the tragic Southwest Inn Fire in 2013 and since then we have provided over $200,000 to 45 fire families in crisis.  There is no other organization in Houston that serves active duty firefighters and yet there is a significant and growing need.  We have many firefighter families suffering from life threatening illnesses requiring extended medical care, many have had major surgeries, some have suffered loss of their dependents and some families have lost their firefighter in the line of duty.  We are THEIR safety net.  In addition to these services we also give back to the community through our Hangin’ With Heroes program where our firefighters spend quality time with hospitalized children.  We are counting on this fundraising event to enable us continue this mission and seek your support and assistance.   We need YOU!

Sponsorships are one of the most important aspects of a fundraising event this size.  We depend on the support of our community and businesses to make the event possible.  Sponsorships may be through donated in-kind services/goods needed to produce the event or they may be cash donations and the advertising benefits are the same.   We have sponsorships available for every budget and many advertising benefits included.

FOOD SERVICES

Interested in selling food at the music festival?

Application DEADLINE: June 15, 2015

We have limited spaces and we limit the types of food sold to make sure you are successful.  

Pricing
$100: Friday 5:00pm – Midnight
$175: Saturday 12:00 – Midnight
$250: Friday and Saturday (per hours listed above)
$35: Electric hook-up
$100: Cleanup fee (refundable in whole or part after inspection)

City of Pasadena FOOD PERMIT is required to serve food on the premises.  Each vendor is required to file and pay for their permit. The approved permit must be emailed to us no later than June 28 in order to participate.  Food Permit must be displayed and visible on the outside of the vendor vehicle where food is served.
